A hat-trick of tries to half Michael Morgan helped the Cowboys to another win. It was a close game in Townsville until Morgan stepped up with tries two and three in the final 10 minutes.
Broncos flyer Lachlan Maranta was the first to strike.
Then Jordan Kahu crossed and the Broncos were looking good. They had an early 12-0 lead.
But the Cowboys’ comeback started with Morgan.
Ethan Lowe’s four-pointer tied it up at 12-12.
Some acrobatics from Gavin Cooper put the home team in front.
However, Brisbane wasn’t giving up. Maranta’s second gave them a sniff.
But there was no stopping Morgan. His second try was a beauty.
Lachlan Coote’s field goal took the Cowboys’ lead to seven.
And then Morgan’s third and final score finished the Broncos off.
