A Jonathan Thurston field goal has given the North Queensland Cowboys a dramatic one-point win over the Canberra Raiders.

In a fantastic game where the lead changed several times, a Thurston drop goal eventually proved the difference.
The Cowboys had several shots at goal charged down but Thurston finally slotted one over in the final seconds.
It was a gutting result for the Raiders who were impressive throughout the game.
The visitors started well, Jonathan Wright touching down.
But Canberra hit back soon after through Edrick Lee.
Blake Austin then had a try disallowed.
But Austin wouldn’t be denied a second time.
A brilliant bust fro Jake Granville put the Cowboys back in it.
But then Jack Wighton pushed the Raiders back ahead.
The Cowboys wouldn’t lie down and Gavin Cooper crossed.
James Tamou forced his way over the try-line but lost the ball.
Jared Croker tied the game up at 20-20 with a few minutes left.
However, Thurston would have the final say. The Cowboys claimed another win in heart-breaking fashion for Canberra.
