fanatix says: It has been a deal that has been done for a while now, but the inclusion of Lachlan Coote for the departed Matthew Bowen is the most important one the Cowboys had to make ahead of this season.

Bowen and captain Johnathan Thurston had formed an incredible combination in attack for North Queensland in recent years, and the club needed to find a player in a similar mould as Bowen.

Dallas Johnson and Ashley Graham will both be missed by the team this year, with their solid contributions in recent season never going astray.

New coach Paul Green will be under pressure to turn the side around from their eighth place finish in 2013, in what was a season many tipped the Cowboys to push for a top four spot.
