Canterbury Bulldogs have reportedly entered the race to sign Manly Sea Eagles star Daly Cherry-Evans for the 2016 NRL season.
The playmaker is out of contract at season’s end and the Bulldogs are understood to be chasing his signature, Fairfax Media report.
Cherry-Evans has become one of the NRL’s most sought-after players after forcing himself into the Maroons and Kangaroos representative sides, but the Bulldogs have a fight on their hands to sign the 25-year-old.
The Cronulla Sharks and Gold Coast Titans are also keen on Cherry-Evans and a bidding war will ensue if he decides not to stay on with the Sea Eagles.
Manly will also struggle to keep hold of Kieran Foran, with the Sydney Roosters, Parramatta Eels and New Zealand Warriors all circling around the Sea Eagles star.
The Sea Eagles are desperate to keep a hold of it two key men to avoid a repeat of last year’s destabilising end of the season.
