Tuqiri will miss his side’s clash with the Canberra Raiders this weekend.
South Sydney’s Lote Tuqiri will miss Saturday’s clash with the Canberra Raiders after accepting a one-match ban for a crusher tackle on Parramatta’s Jarryd Hayne.
The winger took an early guilty plea for a grade-two dangerous conduct charge after the incident during the Rabbitohs’ win over the Eels on Friday.
Tuqiri risked a two-game suspension had he have been unsuccessful with an appeal.
In other NRL judiciary news, Parramatta’s Joseph Paulo will be free to play this weekend after pleading guilty to a grade one careless high tackle charge.
Penrith’s Sika Manu, the Warriors’ Manu Vatuvei and Wests Tigers’ Austin Blake all pleaded guilty to the same charge and are also free to play in Round 20.
Canterbury’s Trent Hodkinson (dangerous throw), Josh Jackson (tripping) and Corey Thompson (dangerous throw) have also escaped bans after each accepted their grade-one charges.
