The 25-year-old has joined the Cowboys on a two-year deal.
The North Queensland Cowboys have announced the signing of Brisbane Broncos hooker Jake Granville for the 2015 and 2016 NRL seasons.
Granville’s signing comes just a day after the Cowboys they had secured Townsville-born Tim Glasby on a two-year deal from the Melbourne Storm.
The 25-year-old was an Intrust Super Cup winner under current North Queensland coach Paul Green at Wynnum-Manly, and it is expected he will challenge for the no.9 role at the Cowboys when he arrives at the club for pre-season in November.
With six matches in the NRL in 2014, he has now totalled eight for his career, including two as the starting hooker.
North Queensland football general manager Peter Parr said Granville has the quality to break into the Cowboys’ first 17.
“Jake can see an opportunity to play more regular first grade football by coming to the Cowboys,” he said in a club statement.
“Anyone who has seen him play knows that he has the ability to become a regular in the first 17.
“He’s quick off the mark, a solid defender and has good service from dummy-half.
“We’re sure he’ll enjoy being back with Paul Green and will be a big contributor over the next two seasons.”
