The Cowboys have locked in the youngster until the end of the 2016 NRL season.
The North Queensland Cowboys have announced young front-rower Sam Hoare has extended his contract with the club for a further two seasons.
The 22-year-old was off contract at the end of the season, but he will now be a Cowboy until the end of the 2016 season after being rewarded with a contract just three weeks after making his NRL debut.
A graduate of the club’s NYC under-20’s program, Hoare impressed with his performances off the interchange bench against St. George and Cronulla.
Hoare played over 50 Intrust Super Cup matches for McKay and has been selected for the Queensland Residents squad for the past two seasons.
“Sam had to wait for his turn in the NRL but once he got there, he’s made the most of it,” Cowboys general manager football Peter Parr said.
“He loves this club, being a Cowboy and definitely has his best years of senior footy ahead of him.”
