1. Sam Burgess
Sam Burgess could be the most dedicated player the NRL has seen. After suffering a grade-three medial ligament tear in his left knee against the Wests Tigers in round five last year Burgess had plasma injections rather than miss two months of footy.
The injuries didn’t end there with a compound fracture to his finger, and all the cartilage torn off the back of his kneecap – all in the space of a single season.
Despite a horror run of ailments, the South Sydney prop showcased his skills as one of the game’s most exciting forwards with highlight worthy tackles and aggressive defense.
Combining with Ben Te’o, the South Sydney forward pack will be a dangerous prospect for any opposition team this season.
