Blues coach Laurie Daley brings in fresh faces to end Queensland’s dominance.
The New South Wales State of Origin side for game one has been leaked ahead of the official announcement this Sunday with coach Laurie Daley picking on form not reputation.
Amongst the 17-man squad are fresh faces Blake Ferguson, Andrew Fifita and James Maloney, with the pair placed alongside seasoned veterans at Origin level.
Ferguson’s inclusion caps a stunning rise to the top of the game after nearly having his contract torn up by the Canberra Raiders earlier this year for off-field behavioral incidents.
Since his return the flying winger has been in sensational form and has shown his finishing skills sit alongside the best in the competition.
Fifita has continued his strong form in his second year the Cronulla Sharks this season, with the dynamic ball-runner showing an increased capacity to perform for longer spells, something that will be crucial in Origin.
Maloney has also hit the ground running in 2013, and has been a big reason why the Sydney Roosters are one of the favourites to win the premiership this season.
In the lead up to the side being named there has been much speculation as to who will be in the halves for the Blues in game one.
Daley has opted to stick with club-mates Maloney and Mitchell Pearce, with their combination for the Roosters hopefully to carry over into the representative game.
