Wide receiver Kenbrell Thompkins was waived by the New England Patriots, and other teams wasted no time in participating in a waiver claim.
The Oakland Raiders have decided to take a flier on Thompkins, shortly after claiming Vincent Brown, who was waived by the San Diego Chargers. The Raiders have been desperate for a reliable wide receiver since Denarius Moore has struggled, and James Jones and Andre Holmes are their top weapons.
Thompkins showed potential with his speed in his time with the Patriots, but it remains to be seen whether he can produce without Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and ultimately help the Raiders dig themselves out of an 0-4 hole.
Here is a tweet from NFL Network national reporter Albert Breer releasing the news on the Raiders’ latest move.
