Raiders’ QB Derek Carr suffered a concussion after an impressive performance against the Lions.
The Oakland Raiders defeated the Detroit Lions 27-26 in Week 2 of the 2014 NFL preseason.
The Raiders’ three starting QBs each led a touchdown drive for the Raiders but had their own ups and downs in a win over the Lions. Starting QB Matt Schaub went 8 of 13 for 87 yards and an INT but on his last drive for the Raiders led the team to a TD off a run from RB Darren McFadden.
Rookie backup QB Derek Carr had a TD to Jake Murphy in the 3rd quarter, but left the game in the fourth with a concussion. Finally, 3rd string QB Matt McGloin led the Raiders to a 19-yard game-winning TD strike to Brice Butler with only 0:06 left in the game.
For the Lions, QB Matthew Stafford started the game and had two first quarter TDs to Golden Tate and Kris Durham. WR Calvin Johnson once again did not play, but first round draft pick Eric Ebron had an outstanding 35 yard catch.
In total, the Lions scored 3 TDs and 2 FGs, but a missed extra point by kicker Nate Freese after the first TD was the difference in the game.
