Oakland Raiders quarterback Derek Carr was taken out of the preseason game, and head coach Dennis Allen revealed that he had sustained a concussion.
Oakland Raiders quarterback Derek Carr performed better in his second preseason game after struggling in his debut, throwing for 109 yards and a touchdown on 9-for-16 passing.
However, his performance was cut short as he was taken off the field in the fourth quarter after being fallen upon. Head coach Dennis Allen revealed that Carr suffered a concussion, and he had also been in pain in his midsection, possibly due to broken ribs.
If Carr can return from his injuries soon, he may be on track to unseat Matt Schaub as the starter soon since Schaub has been struggling in preseason and has not recovered from his awful final season in Houston.
However, Matt McGloin may be making a run at the No. 2 job after his clutch performance last night. The third-stringer threw the game-winning touchdown pass to Brice Butler with six seconds remaining to lead the Raiders to a 27-26 victory over the Detroit Lions.
