Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson says he’s ready to “start a new chapter” in his life
However, this does not stop other teams from expressing interest in the All-Pro running back, as the Oakland Raiders are reportedly interested in trading for him.
It remains to be seen whether there is any truth to this rumor since the Raiders already have a young, rising running back in Latavius Murray.
Peterson is now 30 years old, and running backs are known for declining around that age. However, Peterson is a rare breed who can continue his production if he stays healthy and out of trouble.
The Raiders have a second-year quarterback in Derek Carr, who could only be happy with Peterson coming to Oakland. He has received an upgrade in receiving weapons after the signing of Michael Crabtree.
Peterson holds a $15.4 million cap hit, so it may be tempting for the Vikings to trade him if they can receive enough value in return.
