Oakland Raiders running back Maurice Jones-Drew has been nursing a hand injury, and it appears that he will not play the Raiders’ Week 2 game against the Houston Texans.
Jones-Drew had his right hand examined, and he said that he would not rule himself out although reports have come out stating that he will sit out this week.
The running back hopes to come back as soon as possible and would play this week if he could. “I’d love to go out there, but it’s a long season. You want to make sure that everything is right and where it needs to be,” the former Jacksonville Jaguar said to CSN Bay Area.
However, Jones-Drew is not expected to be out for long. He will use this week to reduce the swelling in his hand, which is clearly visible according to reporters.
Darren McFadden is expected to start in his place with Marcel Reece and Latavius Murray likely receiving carries as well.
