The 36-year-old was released by the Blues this summer after 13 years of success with the club and it’s thought there were a number of offers on the table for the midfielder.
However, Lampard has chosen to follow in the footsteps of players such as Thierry Henry, David Beckham and Robbie Keane and head to America.
Frank: “I’m coming to a great city and I want to show that I can play great football and be a great personality in the locker room.”

The Englishman will link up with former Barcelona forward and Spain’s all-time top-scorer David Villa in New York, with the 32-year-old having also signed for the league’s newest franchise this summer from Atletico Madrid.
Lampard brings a wealth of experience to the division having won three Premier League titles, four FA Cups, the Europa League and the Champions League – among other things.
The former West Ham United man also finishes as the highest scoring midfielder in Premier League history and is widely regarded as the greatest ever player at Stamford Bridge.
