Chalobah joins Forest on-loan until January.
Nottingham Forest have beaten Championship rivals Watford and Wigan Athletic to the loan signing of Chelsea wonderkid Nathaniel Chalobah.
The 18-year-old is regarded as one of the brightest young talents at Stamford Bridge and helped the Hornets to the play-off final last year whilst on-loan.
Gianfranco Zola was hoping to bring Chalobah back to Vicarage Road again this term, with Wigan also keen on adding the youngster to their already impressive squad.
However, against the odds it is in fact Forest who have landed the teenager and the defender will play at the club until January 15.
Chalobah really excelled with Watford last season and played 42 matches in all competitions and scored five goals – most notably a superb strike against Leicester City.
The starlet is adept at playing as either a centre-back or in defensive midfield, but has also been known to be utilised as an attacking midfielder on occasions.
Like so may young players at the Blues Chalobah has found it difficult to get first team opportunities, although did travel with the squad for their pre-season tour of Asia.
To date the Englishman has 10 under-21 caps for the nation and was part of the side that went to the European Championships this summer – although England crashed out of the tournament at the group stage after failing to win a single match.
