Giroud claimed that there is even a ‘smoking culture’ at the Emirates – a revelation that could land several of his teammates in hot water.
Goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny was fined for smoking in the showers after the 2-2 draw with Leicester City before Christmas, while midfielder Jack Wilshere has frequently hit the headlines for being spotted having a cheeky tab.
Manager Arsene Wenger was also once known for lighting up on the bench whilst in charge at Monaco.
And Giroud has hinted that there may be even more at it.
“Everyone knows that there are a lot of players who smoke,” he said.
“In every team there are four or five. It doesn’t shock me. In rugby, they also smoke. And nobody is shocked.”
