Nineteen-year-old Manchester City starlet Patrick Roberts scored the first senior goals of his career on Saturday by bagging a fine brace for Celtic in a 3-1 win over Hearts.
Roberts, who joined Celtic on loan in February, found the net in the 35th and 49th minutes to complete a turnaround at Celtic Park, where Jamie Walker had earlier given Hearts a shock lead, which was cancelled out by Gary Mackay-Steven.
It was the second goal of his brace which truly highlighted the talent that Roberts possesses. The former Fulham man ran at the Hearts defence from the right touchline, before picking out the far corner of Neil Alexander’s goal with a precise left-foot finish.
This was Roberts’ fifth appearance for Celtic – just his second start.
He played three times for City earlier this season, coming off the bench in the Capital One Cup wins over Sunderland and Crystal Palace, as well as substitute cameo in the 4-1 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.
