Puebla centre defender was injured playing for Puebla.
Centre defender Michael Orozco Fiscal has been forced to withdraw from the USA national team’s roster for Wednesday’s friendly against Bosnia and Herzegovina after suffering a hamstring injury in Puebla’s match against Veracuz on Sunday night. Orozco Fiscal, who had just signed a new deal with the Mexican club, was taken off in the last minute of Sunday’s game which ended in a 0-0 draw, Puebla’s fourth tie in five games.
U.S. Soccer have said that there will be no replacement brought in so USA coach Jurgen Klinsmann has gone to Sarajevo with a 22-man roster and Stoke’s Geoff Cameron, Bolton’s Tim Ream, and Hertha Berlin’s John Anthony Brooks (on his first call up), as true centre back options. However should numbers thin further there are other defenders on the roster who can fill in at centre back, such as fullbacks Michael Parkhurst, Edgar Castillo and Brad Evans. Reading’s Danny Williams has also played games in defence and could be called upon if the need arose.
Orozco Fiscal endeared himself to USA fans during last August’s international against Mexico at the Estadio Azteca, when he scored the game winning goal in the final stages to give the USA their first win on Mexican soil.
