Liverpool legend Mark Lawrenson launched a scathing attack on Mario Balotelli whilst on the radio and branded the Italian a “waste of space” following the goalless draw at Anfield in the FA Cup against Blackburn Rovers.
Balotelli has failed to kick on following his winner against Tottenham Hotspur last month which was heralded as the trigger to a sustained run of form for the Italian, which has since not been the case.

Liverpool’s Martin Skrtel Tells Fans He’s OK Despite Injury Scare
“Forget about Mario Balotelli. He is an absolute waste of time. He shouldn’t be anywhere near this team,” Lawrenson told BBC Radio Five Live (via Evening Standard).
“I can see why Brendan Rodgers threw him on [against Blackburn] as he might just create something but, 99 times out of 100, he will let you down.”
Daniel Sturridge has now returned from his injury problems with manager Brendan Rodgers deciding to go with Raheem Sterling through the middle as an alternative instead of Balotelli.
It would therefore not be a surprise to see Balotelli in the shop window again this summer.
