Striker Arouna Kone keen on Goodison Park switch.
Wigan manager Owen Coyle says Arouna Kone wants to link-up with Roberto Martinez at Everton.
The Ivorian striker joined the Latics from Levante last summer and scored nine Premier League goals last season as the club were relegated to the Championship.
Former Wigan boss Roberto Martinez left the DW Stadium to take over at Everton last month and the Toffees have since been linked with a number of Wigan stars, including 29-year-old Kone.
And Coyle has admitted the Ivory Coast international wants to leave and join the Merseyside outfit.
“I’m led to believe through his representative that Everton is the club he wants to join,” Coyle told the BBC.
“It’s not rocket science to say that Arouna Kone will probably leave at some point this week. There have been a number of offers in for him.
“There is no problem, he goes with our blessing because I need players who need to be at Wigan. If his heart’s elsewhere then he’s no good to me.”
Kone has two years remaining on his contract at the DW Stadium and helped Wigan win their first major trophy last season when they beat Man City 1-0 to claim the FA Cup.
