Elephants next games are vital
Though Dollah Salleh’s men sit joint top of Group C after three games, After missing out on a victory in their first two matches Pahang are without a home win so far.
The Elephants will now have to rely on away form to put themselves back into contention.
The first challenge is a trip to Terengganu on Saturday, The Turtles have only picked up one point so far ( in the reverse fixture against the Elephants).
Speaking to the Malaysian Star Pahang Coach Dollah Salleh realises his team need to up the ante.
“It is disappointing that we have not won at home. I feel we could have done better against Terengganu in Kuantan, but my players looked tired and could not raise their game after playing three tough games in 10 days.
“On the bright side, we are still unbeaten. Pahang are leading the group at the halfway mark and have a good chance of qualifying for the quarter-finals.
“But we have to do it the hard way, by seeking points from the two tough away ties in Kuala Terengganu and Kota Baru. We cannot take it easy and just defend away from home.”
Should their away form falter, come the 17th September the Elephants may be regretting their lacklustre results at the Darulmakmur stadium.
