It’s the fourth one day international of the five match series between rivals Pakistan and Sri Lanka, with things nicely poised at 2-1 to the hosts currently.
Things have been fairly even so far, although the batting display of the Pakistanis during the last ODI in Sharjah will be very pleasing for the home side.
The stand-out performer from that clash was Mohammad Hafeez, who’s 140 helped the hosts to a dominant 115 run victory.
Ahmed Shehzad and captain Misbah-ul-Haq also looked in good nick at the crease, whilst the returning Umar Gul was devastating with the ball as the Sri Lankans failed to cope.
The visitors will need to regain the form that saw them win the second game of this series, with many looking towards the influential Tillakaratne Dilshan for inspiration.
Sri Lanka have won just once on this ground and that was way back in 2007, whilst Pakistan’s form here is exactly 50% – with 11 victories and 11 losses in 22 ties.
