The match looked set for golden point when Penrith fought back in the second half to tie it up at 14-14.
But two late tries to Semi Radradra sealed the win for the Eels in a dramatic finish.
Parramatta opened the game in impressive style.
They had two tries early, the second a special effort.
With two penalty goals the Eels were cruising at the break with a 14-0 lead.
But Penrith started to turn things around. First, they managed to finally get over the try-line.
Then Jamie Soward needed some treatment after this late hit.
Some brilliance from Bryce Cartwright cut the lead down.
Cartwright continued to impose himself and the scores were level.
But the Eels finally woke from their slumber. Radradra soon had them back in front.
And his second gave them breathing space.
The Panthers crossed in the final minutes to give them some hope but couldn’t find another score.
