Foran signed a four-year, $4.7 million deal with the Eels this week and Sterling told Triple M radio that the 24-year-old is worth every penny.
“He’s one bloke you would (pay that much money) for,” Sterling is quoted as saying by AAP.
“I rate him that highly. He’s young, his best football is still in front of him and when you consider what he’s already achieved, that’s a nice prospect.
“He’s an investment in the future, he’s a fantastic player, he’s a great bloke, he’s a winner and he’s already captained his country so if you’re a Parramatta fan, as I am, you’re very excited about the future.”
Foran’s announcement has left a gaping hole in the halves at the Sea Eagles, with fellow playmaker Daly Cherry-Evans also announcing his departure from club after signing a three-year deal beginning in 2016 with the Gold Coast Titans.
The Kiwi is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury suffered during Manly’s heavy opening round loss to Parramatta.
