Forward leader could be out for the rest of the NRL season.
A four try second half running into a strong breeze has sealed a stunning comeback win for Newcastle, as they dethroned recent comeback kings Cronulla, to win 31-18.
In a ding dong wooden spoon battle, the Sharks looked to be doing it easy on their home patch when they waltzed to an 18-0 lead late in the first half.
But a try to Willie Mason just before the half-time siren signalled a change of momentum and the Knights went on with the job to hammer a lacklustre Cronulla in the second half.
The Sharks loss was compounded by a suspected torn bicep to skipper Paul Gallen, who left the field in the second half, before returning to finish the game, despite showing visible signs of distress.
