In the waning minutes of the transfer window, Chelsea want one last shot at Paul Pogba.
The summer transfer window is just moments away from closing but Chelsea are hoping they can make the biggest splash of all-time for Paul Pogba in the final hours.
According to the Metro, the Blues are lining up a transfer bid of £88 million for the 22-year-old Juventus midfielder extraordinaire. Should the deal go through, it would break the Premier League transfer record by nearly £30 million and edge out the world-record held by Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale.
The winner of the 2013 Golden Boy award, Pogba has emerged as one of the best midfielders in the world, capable of being a major scoring threat as well as a dominant defensive force. He led Juventus to a Serie A title and brought the club to the UEFA Champions League Final against Barcelona.
The Metro reported that Pogba is seeking a £300,000-a-week salary at Stamford Bridge.
