Chelsea have fallen to 16th place in the Premier League standings, and they are now more desperate than ever to make a splash signing in January.
According to The Metro, the Blues are continuing to pursue Juventus star midfielder Paul Pogba and are aiming for a January deal.
Chelsea already tried to complete a deal with Juventus for the French international during the summer, but it fell through as their £73m bid was rejected.
The defending Serie A champions have insisted that the 22-year-old midfielder is not for sale, but Chelsea and Barcelona are continuing to go after him.
Pogba is still being valued at £73.4m, which will make it difficult for Chelsea to sign him. However, he is reportedly interested in playing for Chelsea or Barcelona.
The Blues already have a solid starting midfield with Oscar, Cesc Fabregas, Willian and Eden Hazard.
It remains to be seen whether they can overcome their sluggish start and sign Pogba, who would undoubtedly give the team a spark.
