The news will also come a slap in the face to Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint Germain, who are also said to be keen on snapping him up over the summer.
According to the report, both Barca and Real have approached Juventus about the possibility of a deal for the France international over the coming weeks.
The 22-year-old is currently under contract in Turin until 2019, but the main problem that will hold any deal up is that Pogba will need to renegotiate his image rights in accordance with what the Spanish giants are offering.
Both La Liga clubs offering the midfielder a five year contract worth €10m a season.
Barca are still under transfer embargo until January 2016, so any deal struck at the Nou Camp would have to be structured around some sort of loan deal.
