Chelsea are edging closer to the signing of Juventus ace Paul Pogba, according to reports.
Pogba has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge this summer, and Daily Star reports Blues owner Roman Abramovich has sanctioned an incredible £73m bid for the French international.
Abramovich initially insisted the club would not pay over £60m for the 22-year-old, however, the report suggests the Russian billionaire fears Barcelona will snap the star midfielder up next summer and is keen to make a move.
Juventus are believed to be keen to hold onto Pogba for one more season, with it understood the former Manchester United prodigy is keen to make a move to the Camp Nou next summer.
Chelsea are currently running behind Barcelona in the race for Pogba, but a £73m bid would surely turn the heads of Juventus’ top brass.
Pogba is contracted to Juventus until 2019, however, and could turn down a move to the Blues even if Juventus accept a bid from the Premier League champions.
