Chelsea has reportedly suffered a setback in a move for Juventus star midfielder Paul Pogba over a proposed swap for Blues’ attacking midfielder Oscar.
According to the Express, Juventus has insisted that Oscar be part of any deal that would send Pogba to Stamford Bridge. Pogba has been one of the stars of Juventus as the club has won three straight Serie A titles and finished as the Runner-Up in the Champions League Final against Barcelona on Saturday. Pogba has been one of the key targets of Premier League clubs hoping to get his services for what may be an estimated £70 million or more.
The Express also reported that Juventus manager Massimo Allegri believes he can get a better deal for Pogba – perhaps from Manchester City – since Chelsea seems unwilling to part with Oscar. Allegri is reportedly willing to bring in Wolfsburg’s Kevin De Bruyne as a replacement for Pogba.
Oscar dos Santos Emboaba Júnior, known more commonly as Oscar, has 18 Premier League goals in 94 appearances for Chelsea since 2012. The 23-year-old Brazilian took over for Frank Lampard in 2014-15 and flourished as the club became the Premier League Champions.
