North London club have found themselves a gem, claims Brazil central defender.
Chelsea defender David Luiz has backed compatriot Paulinho to be a huge success in the Premier League once the Brazil star completes his £17 million move from Corinthians to Tottenham Hotspur next month, reports the Daily Mail.
The in-demand Samba star has been the subject of intense interest from a whole host of big-name European clubs in recent weeks, however, it appears as though it is the north Londoners who have won the race for the box-to-box midfield player’s signature.
And Blues centre-back Luiz has no doubts whatsoever that the 24-year-old has all the required attributes to make it in the English top flight next season, saying: “Paulinho is a fantastic player, both defending and attacking.
“He is complete, so he can come to England. It’s a great moment for him.”
The Brazil international has been with Corinthians for the past two years now, during which time the player has found the back of the net on 20 occasions in only 86 contests for the Sao Paulo giants, although it is Paulinho’s recent form for his country in the Confederations Cup that will really excite Spurs supporters, with the midfielder even scoring the winner against Uruguay in Tuesday’s 2-1 semi-final win over arch-rivals Uruguay.
