Spanish football expert Guillem Balague has revealed that Manchester United face competition from Manchester City and Chelsea in their attempts to sign Barcelona star Pedro.
The Red Devils have been heavily linked with the World Cup winner as they seek a replacement for Angel Di Maria, but Balague claims that they have yet to meet his €30m release clause.
Barca sporting director Robert Fernandez insisted earlier this week that Pedro would not leave unless the clause is triggered, despite the Spaniard having asked to leave the Camp Nou.
According to Ballague on Twitter this morning, City have registered a bid in excess of that figure.
4. City offer is 30m plus 2, superior to United’s so far. So very much in the equation with United. Chelsea interested but third favourite

Chelsea were credited with an interest in the 28-year-old forward earlier in the summer, but Balague claims that the Premier League champions are third in the queue behind the Manchester clubs.
Ballague added that Pedro would be reluctant to leave Barcelona, where he has spent his entire career and won 13 major trophies, but acknowledges that he needs to play more regular first-team football.
Pedro has scored 98 goals in 318 appearances since his 2007 debut for the Catalan giants, the last of which may have been the extra-time winner in their UEFA Super Cup triumph over Sevilla on Tuesday.
