Manchester United received the biggest shock of the summer, as they were snubbed by former Barcelona winger Pedro after signing him seemed like a sure thing.
The Spanish international decided to transfer to Chelsea instead, and his agent revealed how this sudden turn of events took place.
“Maybe Manchester United fell asleep. The negotiation with Chelsea was like a lightning bolt,” Antonio Sanz said, according to The Metro.

Chelsea clearly acted quickly. Man United had been strongly linked to sealing the deal for nearly a week, but it appears that they may not have been as interested in Pedro as it seemed.
Red Devils manager Louis van Gaal claimed that he let Chelsea win the ‘Pedro race’.
There may be truth to this, as Man United have expressed interest in Southampton winger Sadio Mané.
Either way, it will be crucial for the Red Devils to find a solution to their attack’s tame start to the season, with sole striker Wayne Rooney yet to have a shot on target.
