In 2011, Penn State became the subject of controversy when it was discovered that former defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky molested a young boy in the locker room shower.
This sex scandal caused Sandusky to go on trial and be convicted and sentenced to prison for life. Former head coach Joe Paterno, who died in 2012, was fired following this disturbing scandal for allegedly covering up the scandal.
As a result, Penn State received sanctions that included a four-year bowl ban and vacated wins from 1998 to 2011.
However, they were given back their vacated wins, once again giving Paterno the most all-time wins for a college football head coach with 409. 111 wins had been vacated.
Bleacher Report broke this news that is sure to make many college football fans angry on Twitter.
