Penrith have extended the contract of Sam McKendry for a further three seasons.
Penrith Panthers have extended the contract of prop Sam McKendry for a further three seasons in a deal that will keep him at the club until the end of the 2019 NRL season.
McKendry wasn’t off contract at the Panthers until the end of the 2016 season, but both club and player were keen to tie up a long-term deal.
“I couldn’t be happier to be staying on with Penrith and to be playing out the next five years with the club,” McKendry said in a statement.
“We have a really solid team at the moment and Ivan Cleary is an incredible leader, and I see a really bright future here with plenty more to come.”
The 25-year-old has played 104 games to date since making his debut for the club back in 2008.
He has played in eight tests for New Zealand, the last being in 2013.
