Man United want Bayern Munich’s Bastian Schweinsteiger
Manager Pep Guardiola revealed that Schweinsteiger is in the team’s plans for next season although he basically gave him an ultimatum as he said that the forward has to decide.
“I can’t make the call for Basti. He’s a Bayern player, and he is under contract,” Guardiola said to ESPN FC.
Bayern Munich may not be able to bring back Schweinsteiger, as he is currently being pursued by Manchester United.
The 30-year-old midfielder has one year left on his Bayern Munich contract.
Schweinsteiger has scored four goals in 14 games started with Bayern Munich in Bundesliga matches.
Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal is familiar with the German captain since he previously worked with him at Bayern Munich while serving as their manager for two years.
Bayern Munich forward Thomas Müller is also being pursued by Man United, and he has scored 26 goals this season.
Man United figures to upgrade their scoring attack, whether they sign Schweinsteiger or an even more prolific scorer such as Müller.
