The Seahawks have made it a priority to re-sign him, and they are willing to break the bank to make sure they get their man. However, the running back is considering retirement despite being only 28.
“We’ve had big offers there. We continue to work with that and we’re excited about the future. He’s been an integral part of our program for five years we love the contributions that he’s brought,” Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said to NFL.com.
The Seahawks have revealed that they are willing to pay Lynch more than $10 million for the 2015 season even though he is on track to make just $7 million.
Lynch is currently playing on a four-year, $30 million contract that is set to expire in 2016. He has become one of the best running backs in the NFL and tied for the league lead in rushing touchdowns with 13.
