The Three Lions lost the match against Bangladesh which they had to win to remain in the tournament and Moores, in his second spell in charge of the side, has come under much criticism along with captain Eoin Morgan.
The former Lancashire coach did admit, “it’s not my decision” though, while Australia legend Shane Warne said he believed that after England’s sorry showing, Moores was “in trouble”.
England won the toss and decided to chase and Bangladesh then notched 275 runs. The run chase started off reasonably well, though once Moeen Ali was dismissed for 19, the team tumbled through yet another batting collapse.
Eoin Morgan was out for yet another duck in a shocking display.
Morgan was then followed by big wickets for James Taylor and Joe Root and Bangladesh’s bowlers didn’t look back from then on.
Jos Buttler looked to stage something of a revival, seemingly getting England back in the contest, though he was caught behind from Taskin. Chris Jordan soon followed with a controversial run out.
Stuart Broad then went and the contest looked decided thereafter, England despondent but Bangladesh jubilant.
