The nominees for the first PFA Fans’ Player of the Month award in the 2015-16 Premier League season have been revealed and 12 players, representing eight different clubs, are up for it.
Teenage striker Anthony Martial is the favourite for the award, largely because he has scored three goals in his first three BPL games, including this stunning debut effort against Liverpool.

Martial’s chances of winning the award are also strong because he plays for Manchester United and because no Arsenal players were nominated – we all know how Gunners fans love to monopolise online polls!
The other nominees include Swansea City trio Andre Ayew, Bafetimbi Gomis and Ashley Williams, as well as Leicester City pair Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy.
Manchester City duo Vincent Kompany and David Silva join West Ham United’s Dimitri Payet, Southampton’s Graziano Pelle, Watford’s Odion Ighalo and Bournemouth’s Callum Wilson on the list.
The award is based on performances during August and September, but each month hereafter will have its own contest.
