With the Belgium international named in both categories some say the system for shortlisting these awards is farcical – but it does mean Hazard is in with a shot of winning a gong.
The 23-year-old could emulate Gareth Bale from last year and pick up both trophies, although in reality Luis Suarez is likely to win the main award.
However, that is to take nothing away from what this attacking midfielder has achieved at Stamford Bridge this term, with 14 league goals and nine assists ensuring his team keep up their title challenge.
