Former Red Devil to make emotional return to the north west after eight years away.
Veteran Everton midfield player Phil Neville will shortly be announced as one of new Manchester United manager David Moyes’s first-team coaches at Old Trafford, reports the Independent.
The former England international will be out of contract at Goodison Park on June 30, with the Toffees not expected to offer the 36-year-old a new deal to carry on his illustrious playing career with the Merseyside giants.
Neville has featured in 303 games for Everton since signing for the club from United in the summer of 2005 for just £3.5 million, scoring five goals in the process, including four strikes in 242 Premier League contests for the club.
And, despite reportedly having other coaching offers on the table, including from Stoke City, it is understood that Neville was keen to join up once again with the man who brought him to Goodison eight years ago after having assisted England Under-21 head coach Stuart Pearce at this summer’s European Championship in Israel.
