The Eagles have decided to part ways with two-time Pro Bowl left guard Evan Mathis, who was under contract with the Eagles for five years and $25.5 million.
However, the Eagles put him on the trading block and pulled an offer for him to restructure his contract and increase his base salary from $5.5 million to $6.5 million.
Mathis is currently 33 years old, but he is sure to attract plenty of suitors as plenty of teams could use an upgrade at guard.
These teams include the New York Giants and San Francisco 49ers.
The 49ers recently lost Pro Bowl guard Mike Iupati to the Arizona Cardinals.
Mathis was recently ranked as the No. 1 guard in the NFL, so he may still be able to command a hefty contract despite being released.
