The NFL story claims the deal will be worth $7.5 million in base salary alone, but can rise to $10.5 million with incentives.
Ryans missed eight games last season with a torn Achilles, but he has proven to be a reliable tackler as he has reached 100 in six of his nine NFL seasons.
He also reached a career high in sacks with four in his first season with the Eagles in 2013.
The re-signing of Ryans gives the Eagles quality depth at inside linebacker since they traded for Kiko Alonso from the Buffalo Bills, and Mychal Kendricks is returning for his fourth NFL season.
Alonso became a leading Defensive Rookie of the Year candidate in 2013 after finishing with 159 tackles, two sacks and four interceptions.
The Eagles defense appears to be promising heading into 2015 as they seek to reload their offense under Kelly, who has proven to be an offensive guru since coaching at Oregon.
