The veteran power back will continue his NFL career in Philadelphia.

The news was broken by ESPN’s Adam Schefter, who reported that Gore told people close to him that he would be signing with the Eagles instead of trying to re-sign with the 49ers.
Free-agent RB Frank Gore has told people he will sign this week with the Philadelphia Eagles, league sources told me and @caplannfl.

It was reported earlier that the Eagles were expressing strong interest in bringing Gore into the mix – and apparently the reports were accurate. The Eagles are in serious need of help in the RB position after trading away former NFL rushing leader LeSean McCoy to the Buffalo Bills.
The 49ers’ all-time leading rusher, Gore is second among all-active players in rushing yards with 11,073 since 2005. In 10 NFL seasons Gore has recorded over 1,000 rushing yards eight times. He is a five-time Pro Bowler and was an All-Pro as a sophomore in 2006. However, Gore was limited in his carries in 2014 despite starting all 16 games. And his 69.1 yards/game were his lowest mark since his rookie season.
