Legendary German midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger is on the verge of signing for Manchester United, where he will be reunited with Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal, who was Bayern Munich manager between 2009 and 2011.
Schweinsteiger has been on Bayern’s books since 1998, but his 17-year stay with the Bavarian giants is set to end, as he has agreed to move to Old Trafford, “subject to a medical and personal terms”.
United confirmed that a deal was in place on Saturday afternoon.

A few hours later, Bayern published the below photo on Instagram to thank Schweinsteiger for his service.
Schweinsteiger is a legend at club and international level.
He has won 111 senior caps and the World Cup with Germany, as well as eight Bundesliga titles and one Champions League with Bayern.
