New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony continued his promotional and off-the-court work in London on Wednesday where he had the opportunity to meet and greet Prince Harry.
The pair met with graduates from Coach Core who are an organisation that takes 16-24 year olds with limited opportunities and trains them to become sports coaches.
While they also posed for photos with the group of youngsters, Anthony also presented Harry with a personalised Knicks jersey with ‘Wales, 15′ on the reverse.
The 30-year-old follows up his close friend and fellow NBA star LeBron James’ opportunity to meet royalty when the Cleveland Cavaliers star played in front of Prince William and wife Kate Middleton at a game in Brooklyn at the Barclays Center.
James was infamously seen breaking protocol by hugging William and posing for photos with an arm around Kate, and so it is more than likely that someone had a quiet word in Melo’s ear to let him know the deal…
Anthony is in London along with the Knicks ahead of their game against the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday night at the O2 Arena in London as part of the NBA’s Global Games.
