Winner: Oklahoma City Thunder
Like the Heat, the Thunder made an essential upgrade at a position they were hurting at. Utah Jazz center Enes Kanter was acquired by the Thunder. This gives them youth as Kanter is only 22 years old and developing into an All-Star big man. He currently averages 13.8 points and 7.8 rebounds per game and has gotten double-digit rebounds in four of his last five games.
In addition to acquiring some help for Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook, the Thunder got rid of dead weight in center Kendrick Perkins and point guard Reggie Jackson, who repeatedly expressed his disgruntled nature in Oklahoma City.
While Jackson was a valuable bench player, his teammates indicated that they were pleased to see him go as his negativity was unwelcomed by them. Perkins was due $9.1 million this season, and his production has been nowhere near close to that value since leaving the Celtics.
