John Arne Riise has shown that Liverpool are still in his heart seven years after leaving Anfield.
The Norwegian has had his former club’s famous ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ motto tattooed on his leg.
Riise, currently without a club after being released by Cypriot side Apoel Nicosia, posted the below picture on Instagram late on Monday evening.
“Proud to show my new tattoo. A tribute to the amazing club and fans of @liverpoolfc I put it on my left leg as well,” Riise captioned.
“I’m very happy and hope you all like it and understand how much those 7 years and your support meant to me.”
The 34-year-old left-back joined the Reds in 2001 and immediately became a favourite with Liverpool fans courtesy of goals against rivals Everton and Manchester United.
He made 350 appearances in all competitions, winning the FA Cup, League Cup, the Champions League and two Super Cups along the way, before leaving Merseyside for Roma in 2008.
