The Pittsburgh Steelers lost to the Baltimore Ravens, 30-17, in Saturday’s AFC Wild Card playoff game, and they have been eliminated from the playoffs as a result.
The offense sorely missed the presence of running back Le’Veon Bell, and quarterback Ben Roethlisberger struggled throughout the night. He threw for 334 yards and one touchdown and two interceptions on 31-of-45 passing while being sacked five times.
The Steelers quarterback took full responsibility for the Steelers’ loss. “Anytime you turn the ball over, it’s frustrating and that’s why I wanted to apologize to the fans, to my teammates, to the organization, the Rooneys, coaches, it’s frustrating. I wish I could apologize individually to everybody,” Roethlisberger said in his post-game interview.
The quarterback also suffered whiplash before throwing his second interception.
With this loss, the Steelers’ playoff drought has been extended to four years. They last made it to the Super Bowl in the 2010 season before losing it.
